Stay tuned—you’re about to discover the comfort and confidence of a bra that truly fits.
Step 1: THE BAND
The band of a bra plays a crucial role in providing support—about 80% of a bra’s support comes from the band. It should sit firmly around your ribcage, lying in a flat, horizontal line that’s level at both the front and the back. A properly fitted band stays parallel to the ground and doesn’t shift as you move.
If the band is riding up at the back, it’s a clear sign that the band size is too large. This not only reduces support but can also affect the fit of the cups and straps. Ensuring a snug, secure band fit is essential for both comfort and support.
Step 2: THE FRONT & CENTRE WIRE
The front and centre wire of a bra should sit flat against the sternum, providing a clear separation between the breasts. It should lie firmly and smoothly against the skin without lifting or pressing into breast tissue. If the wire sits on top of the breasts instead of against the chest, it’s a sign that the cup size is too small and needs to be adjusted. Ensuring the wire sits flush ensures proper support and a comfortable fit.
Step 3: THE CUPS
Finally, make sure the straps of your bra are firm but do not either dig in nor have slack in them.
